Onions

This year I harvested enough onions to make a couple of plaits.

They won't last through the winter, but it was fun to do, and they look lovely...

Hi Anna - my onions are looking pretty good and hopefully this warm spell will be perfect to finish them off. Garlic ordering time soon! What varieties would you suggest? Thanks

The garlic I planted is all here http://growyourownfood.blogspot.com/2009/08/garlic-harvest.html - they all did well. Not sure how many of these are commercially available. Mainly I would suggest a mix of both hard and softneck garlic - the sotfnecks are better for storage, but you need hard neck for scapes. The selection locally is not great - where will you order from?
